Ex-LaLiga player guilty of mascot sexual abuse

Former Celta Vigo captain Hugo Mallo has been found guilty of assaulting a team mascot before a game in 2019. The Barcelona court ruled that Mallo must pay a compensation of €6,000 to the victim and an additional €1,000 for non-pecuniary loss. Mallo touched the breasts of a woman wearing Espanyol’s parakeet costume before a LaLiga match in 2019. He denies any wrongdoing and plans to appeal the verdict.
