A new southbound arm of the bowstring arch bridge linking Mumbai Coastal Road with Bandra-Worli Sea Link was inaugurated by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Devendra Fadnavis. The bridge aims to ease traffic congestion at Abdul Gaffar Khan Road, Worli. Speed limits on the newly opened portion are set at 60kmph. The bridge will eventually extend to Palghar, benefiting the Vadhvan Port. The project was completed ahead of schedule and was a collaborative effort with local fisherfolk. The inauguration was attended by officials and members of the Koli community. This project was approved during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure and completed during Fadnavis’ term.
