The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore, N.K. Lokanath, highlighted the challenges faced by cooperative societies and emphasized the importance of overcoming these challenges for the benefit of the community. He mentioned the lack of leadership, training in administration, and participation by members as key issues affecting cooperative societies. Additionally, restrictions on accessing credit from mainstream financial institutions were hindering the growth of these societies. The Sahakara Mitra award was conferred to individuals in the hospitality sector for their contributions. The event was organized by the Hotel Owners Credit Cooperative Society.
