The Kerala government has formed an advisory committee to streamline and improve organ transplant processes in the state. The committee will work in accordance with the Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994, and will provide guidance to the appropriate authority overseeing organ transplant activities. The Director of Medical Education serves as the appropriate authority in Kerala, with K-SOTTO acting as the office of the appropriate authority. The committee, chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary of Health, consists of medical experts, social activists, legal experts, and NGO representatives. This initiative aims to make organ transplantation more transparent and efficient in Kerala.
