Harvey Weinstein moved from Rikers Island to hospital for emergency heart surgery

Harvey Weinstein underwent heart surgery after complaining of health issues and was moved from jail to a hospital in New York City. His representative stated that he is in recovery at Bellevue Hospital’s intensive care unit and is dealing with other serious health problems. Weinstein had surgery to remove fluid from his lungs and heart. He has been hospitalized before for various health conditions, including Covid-19, double pneumonia, diabetes, high blood pressure, and spinal stenosis. Weinstein’s 2020 rape conviction was overturned, but he still faces potential new charges. Despite multiple accusations of sexual assault and harassment from over 80 women, Weinstein maintains that any encounters were consensual.
