The State finance minister announced that active members of the Lottery Welfare Board will receive a festival allowance of Rs 7,000, while pensioners will receive Rs 2,500 during the Onam season. The Thiruvonam bumper lottery ticket carries a first prize of Rs 25 crore, with the second prize also in crores. The ticket sales have reached 23 lakh, with Palakkad district leading in sales. The lottery department aims to sell a maximum of 90 lakh tickets for the Thiruvonam bumper. This year’s bumper is expected to create 22 crorepati winners.
