‘No social justice in AAP’: City MLA and party’s Dalit face joins Cong | Delhi News

Former Delhi social welfare minister and MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party and joined Congress. Gautam, a prominent Dalit face, cited issues like caste census, reservation, and social justice as reasons for his decision. He praised AAP for its work in education but criticized its treatment of SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities. Gautam had been lying low since a controversy in 2022. He is the second Dalit MLA to resign from AAP. Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi influenced his decision to join the party. Congress welcomed Gautam, with general secretary KC Venugopal calling it a proud moment for the party.
